Im not here asked:
I have always cringed at the site of outside dogs they are either free roaming, tied up with a crappy dog house for cover or in a kennel all day and night. If you own a dog and keep him outside morning noon and night, why even own a dog anyway! They are part of the family and I can’t imagine them being happy out there all the time. They need walked, socialized and to be in good health and clean smelling. I live in a big city where alot of the people keep their dogs outside and it’s an inconvience to not be able to sleep soundly at night. They use these dogs as burglar alarms or they sell drugs and want some type of alert system, so they have dogs tied up in various spot over their yards. Even with a large kennel your dog is not getting what it needs in life. Why have a dog if you aren’t going to care for them properly? Why not let them out during the day and crate them at night?
if you live in the country and have more than an acre and your dog is loose, this question is not geared towards you! This ? is geared towards the dogs that have no where to go!!!

Wondering Women asked:
I have a great dane and am getting a small dog (12 pounds). He is very considerate of other dogs when socializing. But- just in case I would like to ask anyone who has a big dog and small dog how they got there big dog to be considerate (not step on, not bite, and to be easy playing) of the small dog. I would like to know about how people taught their big dogs that. Also I would like to ask how to introduce a big dog to a small dog. We are getting our small dog second, since we already have a big dog. Does that make a difference? Thank you.

Daniel K asked:
My dog is a minituare Schnauzer, but he’s really big for a minituare. Well my dogs problem is that he always barks and growls at other dogs, even ones that are twice his size. He can’t confront other dogs because there either scared of him, or they get pissed off at my dog. There are only a few dogs my dog confront calmly. I think my dog only growls because he’s excited, because once he meets the dog he’s very gentle and just sniffs around. How do I fix my dogs problem, I know one way to fix it is to get another dog for him to play with. But my family does not want another dog.
It’s hard to introduce him to dogs because people just walk away at my barking dog lol.

T asked:
He is a beagle who will only bark when he needs to go outside or wants more food. We are very lucky. But, there are 2 dogs that don’t socialize with other dogs that he barks and howls at when they pass by the house. The owners of the 2 dogs think he is adorable and laugh when he does this but we want this behavior to stop. Other dogs in the neighborhood also bark and growl at these 2 dogs too.

Yumi H asked: I get scared when larger breed dogs growl or bark.
I got attacked by a corgi before and certain breeds make me nervous, but the breeds that I like are : Maltese, poodles, schnauzers, pugs and miniature mutts.
Also, due to a mild allergy, dogs with coarse hair like labs tend to make my skin itch. Yet, poodles and cavalier king Charles spaniels and those breeds mentioned above didn’t make me itch.
A dog would give me an excuse to walk around and not look weird, especially when I go too close to people w/dogs.

Aneleh asked: I have 2 cats and three dogs. One night, I ran out of cat food (the dry type) and my cats were hungry. So since I had dog food only and the shops were closed, I gave them dog kibbles. They’re more or less of the same shape and size and are made of the same ingredients - chicken. My cats took a nibble and refused the rest of the bowl, preferring to go hungry than eat dog food. The next day, i got them a fresh pack of made-for-cats kibbles and they immediately dived in and ate up. How come my cats knew what I gave them wasn’t cat food?
I also know of dogs that won’t eat cat food for the long run (not mine though, cos they’re pigs and will eat anything).
It would be good if a pet food manufacturer can answer this question. Is there some special ingredient you put in cat and dog food that makes cats and dogs know which kibbles is who’s? Also, nowadays, dogs are eating fish too - like salmon. You can’t say it’s the ingredient. How come they know the difference?

kate92979 asked:
I’ve had my dog for about 2 months now. I rescued him from a shelter, he came from an abusive background but he’s a great dog. He’s very aggressive with other dogs though. He growls when he’s near them and I’ve learned that it’s because he wants to get to know them but he doesn’t “introduce” himself properly. A month ago, he was attacked by another dog and it was horrible. I thought he was going to get killed. Thankfully, that didn’t happen but now I’m so afraid when I take him for walks or to the park. I feel like something like that will happen again and I won’t be able to get him out of the situation. The minute I see another dog, I take my dog and we leave. I can’t even enjoy my time out with him because I’m constantly looking for other dogs. What should I do?
